Energy Pyramid
The pyramid below represents the different levels of the food chain which are producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers and decomposers. Through each trophic level, energy is lost and transferred. Only about 10% of the energy is transferred from one level to another. Some reasons for energy loss is respiration and movement.
Food WebThe first level of any food web is carbon dioxide and sunlight. These things aid in growth of the producers, which in this case are the Saltbush and Indian Rice Grass. The primary consumers are the Antelope squirrel, Uinta chipmunk, and the Collared lizard, who eat the producers. The secondary consumers in this food chain are the Rattlesnake and the Red fox. Finally, the tertiary consumer is the hawk who eats the snake and chipmunk. One of the decomposers in my park is the Earthworm, which can decompose any animal in the park that dies.
